Herbal and natural remedies have been on the rise to the general market. However, their effectiveness has always been doubtful. Most of the reasons are due to these medicinal components are being applied with allopathic and orthodox medical lenses(please read “Re-Search The Intrinsic Scientific Research | Part 1” for more information)To know which herbal remedies work for us, knowing their origins and indigenous/traditional medical principles are crucial.

Indigenous and traditional sciences share an intimate relationship with herbal medicine — one that extends far beyond chemistry.
Taxonomists, herbalists, healers, and medicine women and men understand medicinal plants not only through their measurable compounds, but also through the subtle energetics they carry. These plants support our wellbeing in ways often overlooked by the modern industrialized medical industry.

Each herbal ingredient holds its own medicinal properties, actions, temperature, and energetic patterns. For example, in general herbalism and naturopathic medicine, St. John’s Wort is widely recognized as an antidepressant for its ability to raise serotonin levels. However, in pharmacognosy — the pharmacological study of natural substances and their interactions — St. John’s Wort may also decrease serum drug levels by inducing P-glycoprotein in the small intestine and can deplete vitamin D in the body.¹

Indigenous and traditional herbal principles, however, see no concept of “anti-.” There is no good or evil in medicine. Healing is not about suppression, but about restoring harmony between mind, body, and spirit. St. John’s Wort is understood as a warming nervine with carminative, diaphoretic, and circulating actions. These qualities help reduce coldness and stagnation, bringing warmth and brightness to those whose moods have become heavy or still.

TONIC BASE

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp Rose Petals

  • 350 ml Water

      Temperature: Cold and hot interchangeable (depends on source and preparation)

Instructions:
步驟說明:

  1. Boil the water to about 80 °C (or until the kettle automatically switches off at 100 °C).
    將水煮至約80°C(或電熱水壺自動關掉時的100°C)。
  2. Add rose petals and goji berries — along with your selected tonic blend — into a teapot.
    將玫瑰花瓣與枸杞連同選擇的草本混合配方一併放入茶壺中。
  3. Pour in the hot water and steep for 10 – 15 minutes.
    注入熱水,浸泡10至15分鐘即可。

5. PTSD / C-PTSD
